Behind the Glow (BTG): Vicky (Blog)

In Behind the Glow (BTG), we will be introducing the KHOHA team! Meet Vicky from our Blog team:

"My name is Vicky Lin and I am a junior majoring in Business Administration. In my free time, I love to bake yummy desserts, experiment with smoothie recipes, practice yoga, and go on hikes! I have always been really passionate about the beauty/skincare industry, where I even worked at 2 beauty companies last summer!"

What is your typical beauty/skincare routine?

  • Facial Cleanser — as I have sensitive and acne-prone skin, I make sure to use a gentle facial cleanser with the most natural ingredients. I have been using FANCL Facial Cleansing Powder for many years, and I love it!
  • Toner — I've never really understood the importance of toner until I began to see discoloration on my skin from acne and rash scars. Since then, I've always been extra mindful of hydration and have been loving the balancing effects from FANCL Enrich Toner I, which I use all seasons.
  • Moisturizer — Since FANCL's facial cleanser and toner match my skin, it is natural that I also use their moisturizer 😄 I love FANCL's Enrich Emulsion I because it's so lightweight and hydrating at the same time!
  • Sunscreen — Sunscreen is definitely something I apply every single day, no matter if I am indoors or outdoors. This habit was definitely passed down from my mother, who constantly reminded me to apply sunscreen ever since I was young.

What/who is your beauty inspo?

I have my fair-share of instagram influencers and youtubers that I follow to get inspiration, such as Aimee Song, Sophia Chang, Jenn Im, Hana Lee and Michelle Choi. I'm also frequently scrolling through a Chinese platform called RED, and derive inspo from there too!

What do you do to self-care?

Self-care is so important these days, especially during quarantine and the current California fires. Some days I force myself to be busy and overloaded with work so that I could forget about the pandemic and the poor air quality. However, that's definitely NOT self care.

My modes of self care can be separated into internal and external care. To benefit my internal self, I practice yoga, clean the apartment, re-organize desks and shelves, and cook for me and my roommates! External self care can be done through taking a long and hot shower, exfoliating, and my favorite, painting my nails.

What's your favorite thing about working with KHOHA?

The community! Working with 2 of my best friends has been super awesome <3
